The Greater Galilee Community Development Corporation opened a new pavilion in West Louisville.
The organization dedicated the new pavilion at 4000 W. Broadway on Sunday.
The pavilion was once an old service station.
It will now serve as a space for youth in West Louisville to access sports opportunities, fresh food and economic empowerment.
Project Manager William Cunningham Sr. highlighted the transformation of the dormant building into a community asset.
“A vision for the church, for the GCDC and for this community,” said Cunningham. “This building sat there dormant for a long time and it was the right opportunity for the Greater Galilee Church to take possession of in 2016.”
The pavilion will also offer workspaces and classrooms, providing a comprehensive resource for the local community to thrive.
